Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is an un-conference?

An un-conference is like a regular conference only most of the bad stuff has been eliminated. Our fundamental belief is that you learn more at an event when you’re having a dialogue rather than listening to a monologue. So, while we will have the occasional speech or panel discussion, we’ll also include interactive experiences like Virtual Reality Pods, a Shark Tank-like competition, a Mobile X Charity Lab, Roundtable Discussions, Food Trucks and more.

Who will be attending?

In addition to speakers and panelists from Google, E&J Gallo, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, CNN, Kimberly-Clark, the Atlanta Hawks and more, we’ll also have executives from Fortune 500 companies, university professors from Georgia Tech, executives from marketing agencies, venture capitalists, executives from mobile start ups, students and just about anyone else who is interested in learning how to use mobile to grow their sales and revenues.

Do you have a student discount?

Yes. Email us by clicking here and we’ll give a discount code for 50% off provided you have a valid student ID. Alternatively, you can email us about working as a volunteer at the event — it’s a great way to learn a few things while doing some work for a good cause.

My boss needs convincing that I should attend. Can you help?

Facebook Jumps into Video Livestreaming with Mentions

There is no escaping it. If you’re on almost any popular social media platform, you’re going to see video. The videos you’ll see range from companies trying to promote their brands, to Mom and Dad showing off the kids and the family pets.

It used to be that you’d only see pre-recorded videos, but today, things have changed. Now you’re seeing livestream videos, which are simply videos that are broadcast live.

Twitter has Periscope, and, of course, you’re already familiar with Meerkat. And now Facebook has joined the group.
